ESP Ltd has been awarded a new contract to supply upstream chemicals to Sirte Oil Company (SOC).

ESP Ltd, a specialist in artificial lift and production chemicals, will supply one hundred and sixty drums of scale inhibitor, developed by Baker Hughes, to SOC in the Zelten field. The chemicals will be injected continuously into the run tasks that feed the field’s shipping pipe. ESP Ltd’s engineers will oversee the injection of the scale inhibitor chemical, which will create a thin film on the internal wall of the pipeline, to prevent the formation of scale.

The scale inhibitor used is part of Baker Hughes’ ‘Flow Assurance’ chemical family and is designed to guarantee uninterrupted hydrocarbon production flowing from the reservoir to the point of sale.
